LightSpeed HyperTi Adjustment Instructions

Note: Assembled drivers come pre-set for the correct weight based on the length of club ordered and require no further adjustment unless desired.

The LightSpeed HyperTi comes with 3 SmartSet adapters which alter the side to side bias from Fade to Maximum Draw. In addition, there are ( 3) 1 gram black weights, (2) 2 gram, (2) 5 gram and (2) 8 gram screw weights which can be used independently or with the SmarSet adapters to alter the club head weight to match the overall length of the driver. Gently turn the plastic 1 gram screws in place. Do not attempt to over-tighten to avoid stripping. The screw weights may also be used by themselves in Ultra Light mode with the SmartSet adapter removed for drivers that are 46.5” to 48” in length.

SmartSet Adapter Instructions

There are 3 SmartSet adapters marked 0 (blank), -1 and -2. To alter the side to side ball flight simply install the adapters on the sole plate using the supplied adapter screws and tool in the following configuration. Make certain the adapter screws are correctly aligned and fully snugged into position to avoid stripping and/or loose adapter connection.

Fade Bias: Place the -2 adapter on the sole with the -2 number facing the word “LightSpeed” to position the face angle open for fade bias. Suggested for low handicap players who fight a hook.

Neutral: Place the -1 adapter on the sole with the -1 number facing the word “LightSpeed” to position the face angle square for neutral bias. Suggested for skilled players who desire a workable driver for fades or draws.

Slight Draw Bias: Place the 0 (blank) adapter on the sole to position the face angle slightly closed for a minor draw bias. Suggested for lower handicaps seeking straight ball flight to slight draw bias.

Draw Bias: Place the -1 adapter on the sole with the-1 number facing the heel (shaft side) of the driver to position the face angle closed for a draw bias. Suggested for various handicaps seeking a straighter ball flight or an easier to draw driver.

Maximum Draw Bias: Place the -2 adapter on the sole with the -2 number facing the heel (shaft side) of the driver to position the face angle considerably closed for a major draw bias. Suggested for higher handicaps, players who battle a fade or any golfer seeking a more draw bias driver.

Weights: The weight screws to use together with the SmartSet Adapters coincide with the length of the driver. Weight may be reduced or increased according to personal preference. The following are suggested :
        44-44.5” driver length – (2) 8 gram & (1) 5 gram
        45-45.5” driver length – (2) 8 gram & (1) 1 gram
        46-46.5” driver length – (1) 8 gram, (1) 2 gram & (1) 1 gram or (2) 5 gram & (1) 1 gram
        47-47.5” driver length – (1) 5 gram & (2) 1 gram or (2) 2 gram & (1) 1 gram
        48” driver length – (3) 1 gram or (1) 5 gram and (2) 1 gram

For 46.5” to 48” Driver Lengths

For drivers assembled at the above lengths the driver may be used in Ultra Light mode with the SmartSet Adapter removed from the sole plate for faster club head speeds. Unscrew the adapter from the sole using the flag handle tool and fill the screw holes with the small screws supplied using a small standard slotted screw driver (not supplied). The driver will set up in the slight draw bias position without the SmartSet Adapter installed. The screw weights can now be configured to properly weight the club head for the driver length used. More weight in the heel promotes draw, more weight in the toe promotes fade, more weight weight in the rear promotes higher ball flight and weight in the heel & toe promotes lower ball flight. Weight may be added or subtracted to satisfy personal feel. The suggested weighting is as follows:

        46.5” driver length - (2) 8 gram & (1) 5 gram
        47” driver length - (2) 8 gram & (1) 1 gram
        47.5” driver length - (1) 8 gram & (1) 5 gram (1) 2 gram
        48” driver length - (1) 5 gram & (2) (1) gram or (1) 8 gram & (2) 1 gram or (2) 5 gram and (1) 1 gram

Raw club head weights +/- are as follows:
        with (3) 1 gram screws - 176 grams
        with SmartSet adapter installed & (3) 1 gram screws - 186 grams

Longer driver lengths can also be cut down to standard or shorter lengths for golfers who are uncomfortable swinging a longer club. Drivers are cut down from the grip end which can be performed by any experienced club maker or golf shop.

Ultra Edition Drivers

The Ultra Edition M80 LightSpeed HyperTi uses the lightest club head settings together with the ultra light graphite shafts and a 23 gram grip to maximize swing speed at club lengths from 46.5” to 48”. The custom assembled drivers come pre-set for correct weighting however golfers can adjust the weight to individual preference. Weight can be positioned in the heel for more draw bias, in the rear for proper trajectory or in the toe for more fade bias. The drivers can also be used with the face angle adapter placed on the sole plate (as described above) with just the 1 gram plastic weights installed in the three weight ports.

Lightest Overall Weight – (3) 1 gram plastic weights installed in weight ports

Very Light Overall Weight – (2) 1 gram plastic weights & (1) 2 gram weight installed in weight ports

Light Overall Weight - (2) 1 gram plastic weights & (1) 5 gram weight installed in weight ports

Heavier Head Feel - (2) 1 gram plastic weights & (1) 8 gram weight installed in weight ports or (1) 1 gram plastic weights & (2) 5 gram weight installed in weight ports or long black face angle adapter bar screwed into the sole plate with (3) 1 gram plastic screws in weight ports
