ProSpeed Weight Instructions

Note: The assembled driver comes with the correct weights installed and requires no additional changes unless desired.

Setting the Driver for Draw, Fade or Neutral Bias

The ProSpeed driver has 6 weight ports (3 on the heel side & 3 on the toe side *see image below). Weight placed on the heel side (the shaft side of the head) sets the driver for Draw Bias, weight placed on the toe side sets the driver for Fade Bias and weight evenly distributed between the heel and toe sides set the driver for Neutral Bias.

Setting the Driver for High, Medium or Low Loft

The ProSpeed driver comes in 10 and 12 degree lofts which can be altered by approximately 1 degree higher or lower depending on how the weight is positioned in the head. The heel and toe areas both have 3 weight ports positioned in the front (nearest the face), middle and rear of the club head. Placing the heaviest weight in the front weight port lowers the trajectory (loft), placing the heaviest weight in the middle weight port maintains standard trajectory (loft) and placing the heaviest weight in the rear weight port provides higher trajectory (loft).

Setting the Driver for a combination of Draw, Fade or Neutral Bias & High, Medium or Low Trajectory

For the majority of golfers the Draw Bias setting is the most preferred. To set the driver for Low Draw bias place the heaviest weight in the front heel weight port. For medium trajectory Draw Bias place the heaviest weight in the middle heel weight port. For high Draw Bias place the heaviest weight in the rear heel weight port. For Fade Bias simply place the heaviest weight in the toe weight ports as described above. For Neutral Bias split the heavier weight between the heel and toe weight ports.

Recommended Weights for Various Driver Lengths

Add the following brass weights to the club head. The remaining weights should be the black plastic 1 gram weights.  When removing or installing the black plastic weights do not force or apply undo pressure. Gently turn the screw into place. Do not over tighten to avoid stripping. Do not exceed maximum weight recommendations.

48” – 47.5” length – (1) 5 gram weight or, for heavier feel,  (2) 5 gram weights. Maximum weight (1) 8 gram & (1) 5 gram 

47” – 46.5” length – (2) 5 gram. For heavier feel (1) 8 gram & (1) 5 gram weights. Maximum weight (2) 8 gram

46” – 45.5” length – (2) 8 gram weights. For heavier feel (2) 8 gram & (1) 2 gram 

45”-44.5” length – (2) 8 gram weights & (1) 5 gram

44” – 43” length – (2) 8 gram & (2) 5 gram

Golfers can set the weighting lighter than recommended if preferred. Do not overweight the club head as excess weight will slow down swing speed and over stress the shaft especially at 47” to 48” lengths.

Weight Identification

8 gram – longest brass weight

5 gram – shortest brass weight

2 gram – medium length aluminum weight

1 gram – black plastic screws

Note: When the proper weighting is achieved

brass screw weights can be held in place with

Loctite 222 (available at hardware stores)

to prevent loosening. Do not apply to plastic

screws. Brass screws that are not secured in place

should be checked every few rounds and re-tightened

to prevent the threads from stripping.

How to Set Up for a Draw

1) At address align your body slightly right of your target line (for right hand golfers. To the left of your target line for left hand golfers) and position the ball and club head at the instep of your leading foot.

2) Point the grip of the driver at the middle of your stomach (it will give the appearance of the club face being slightly closed)

3) At the start of the backswing take the club head straight back from the ball for the first few feet of the backswing (do not immediately pull the club behind your body)

4) At the start of the downswing (hold your right arm close to the right side of your body – for right hand golfers. For left hand golfers hold the left arm close to the left side of your body). This insures that the downswing path approaches the ball from the inside.

5) Maintain an even tempo while keeping your head and upper body behind the ball through impact.

The ball will start to the right (or left for lefties) of the target and draw back to the middle.
